The History of Hong Kong Zhai Dim Sum

Hong Kong Zhai Dim Sum is more than a fruit of labor for the late Mr. Tom Tan and his wife, Mdm. Susan Ng.

 

More than two decades ago, Mdm. Susan Ng entered the F&B industry as a humble waitress in a dim sum restaurant. Being fondly passionate of dim sum and the world of culinary, she would volunteer her free time in the kitchen and watch her colleagues at work. Her enthusiasm and talent impressed the Master Chef and she was soon given the opportunity for apprenticeship.

Thereafter, Mdm. Susan Ng became widely recognized and continued to extend her skills and experiences in the creation of authentic Hong Kong dim sum.

Both Mr. Tom Tan and Mdm. Susan Ng were deeply connected to the world of dim sum. They met each other in the same restaurant and spent most of their lives dedicated to the creation of authentic Hong Kong dim sum. Having come a long way, their spirit to excel in the creation of dim sum grew stronger.

In 1988, Hong Kong Zhai Dim Sum was founded, offering a wide array of authentic and irresistible Hong Kong dim sum. Soon, it established a strong foothold in the dim sum manufacturing industry and emerged as one of the bigger player.

In 2014, an all new brand image is developed for Hong Kong Zhai Dim Sum, grounding its roots and focusing on heritage. To celebrate this, Hong Kong Zhai Dim Sum Express Delivery – an extension of the brand is founded. It is initiated by the second generation of “Hong Kong Zhai”, Mr Albert Tan and Mr Tan Tong. The philatelic concept symbolizes the express delivery provided island-wide to households and corporate customers. A wide variety of ala-carte dim sum, dim sum bento sets and party sets are launched to satisfy all dim sum lovers.

Now, one can just sit back and enjoy hot steaming dim sum delivered to our doorsteps!
